Bidding

  1. In order to bid in this auction, you must first register and receive a bidding number. Your bidding number will be sent to you upon submission of your registration form. All registration information and bids are confidential. Bidding by number rather than by name insures additional confidentiality. Register now!
  2. Bidders must be 18 years of age or older.
  3. You may only bid by using the form on our web site.
  4. Bidding will be in United States dollars only.
  5. Bids must be increased by a minimum of five dollars.
  6. There will be no additional fee for shipping and insurance cost which will be arranged by The FAWCO Foundation.
  7. Any customs charges will be borne by the winning bidder.
  8. Once a bid has been submitted, it cannot be retracted.

Automatic Bids

You can submit a bid on an item for a maximum amount of $75. The current bid might be only at $20. Your bid will be entered at $25 and will automatically increase at a minimum of $5 over other incoming bids on that item until your limit of $75 is reached. Should you see that your limit has been exceeded (i.e. the bidding is now at $80) and you wish to continue bidding, you must submit a new bid. If you wish to submit a new bid, be sure to include your bidding number.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What happens if there are two or more equal bids?
If there are two bids for the same amount, the bid with the earliest time and date will be accepted over the later bid. You will know if yours is currently the high bid because your bidding number will be the one that is displayed.
  • Why can't I see my bid on the web?
The web site is manually updated with the bids. This may take a few hours but will be much faster on the last day.

Notification of Winners

Within three days of the close of the auction, both the winner and the donor will be notified by The Foundation auction chair. The donor will not ship the item to the winner until notified by The Foundation treasurer that payment has been received for the item.

Payment

  • Payment may be made to The Foundation treasurer via US dollar check, or by emailing or faxing your credit card information.
  • Payment for any shipping costs will be met by The Foundation.
  • Payment for any customs charges will be paid by the winning bidder.

Shipping

The donor undertakes to ship the item to the winner within 10 days of receipt of notification of payment by The Foundation treasurer. Once The Foundation (or Foundation Auction) Treasurer has received the shipping invoices, the donor will be reimbursed.
